March to October is ideal. Summer (May-August) is perfect for all activities. Winter (December-February) is great for snow activities.
Yes, Kashmir is very safe for tourists. The local government takes good care of visitors, and people are very welcoming.
Summer: Light cotton clothes, warm jacket for evenings, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, layers for temperature changes.
Winter: Heavy thermals, down jacket, waterproof boots, woolen gloves/cap, warm socks, moisturizer.
