The best time to visit Kashmir is from Kolkata, during March to June, the weather will be mild and pleasant with the temperature ranging from 13 to 28 degree celsius, and you can explore major places of Kashmir.
If you are planning a trip to Kashmir during Durga Puja time, which is in October month, the weather will be cool, but not too cold yet, and the temperature will range from 9 to 20 degree celsius, there will be slightly chill in the air as winter will start from the end of November.

If you are planning to travel by train from Kolkata to Kashmir the major train which operates 7 days a week from Chitpur station Belgachia Kolkata 13151 KOAA JAT EXPRESS Dep: 11.45 AM. The train takes around 1 day 21 hours to arrive at Jammu Tawi railway station Arr 8.50 AM that is the nearest railway station to reach Srinagar, from there you can travel by taxi or bus towards Srinagar, the distance is around 245 KM and 6 hours 15 minutes of journey.
