By starting your day early from Srinagar, so you can explore Gulmarg more, it is the nearest hill of Srinagar about 50 km and 2 hours of journey. On the way make a stop at mini hill station known as Tangmarg, have tea and snacks there, if you are visiting Gulmarg in winter so you can rent clothes in Tangmarg like warm shoes, gloves, and jackets in Tanmarg, As Gulmarg will be too cold during winter, Once you reach Gulmarg you can start your day with a Gondola ride to Phase 1 Kongdoori and Phase 2.
